This dealership is a family owned dealership. It is in the 3rd generation at this time. The dealership received it's first franchise in 1937. The brand was INDIAN. JAMES P HAYES SR. (aka: jim or to long timers as the "CHIEF"), started the business from his small garage where he serviced and repaired motorcycles. he had other jobs at this time as he had his eldest son, jim jr. and 2nd son kenneth was on the way, he worked at north american rayon plant in elizabethton, as well as driving an ice truck and school bus to earn income to take care of the growing family.
